Team Shooting Stars is governed by a Board and maintains its own bylaws, athlete-protection practices and child-safeguarding program.
BOARD & VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP
The academy is sustained by people who contribute their time and experience.
The Board provides organizational oversight and continuity. Coaches, range officers, parents, adult and junior athletes and other volunteers are also critical to practices, matches, equipment, administration and athlete opportunities.
Board oversight, coaching, range operations, safeguarding and administration are separate responsibilities, but they support the same purpose: keeping the academy safe, stable and accountable to the athletes and families it serves.
SPORTING FRAMEWORK
Connected to the Olympic and Paralympic structure.
USA Shooting
USA Shooting is the U.S. National Governing Body for Olympic and Paralympic shooting sports. It develops athletes, sanctions competition and connects U.S. participants to the national and international shooting-sport pathway.
Team Shooting Stars operates as a USA Shooting Certified Training Center — Rifle & Pistol.
ISSF
The International Shooting Sport Federation governs international shooting sport and maintains the technical rules used for Olympic Rifle and Pistol competition.
World Shooting Para Sport
World Shooting Para Sport provides the international framework for Para shooting, including classification and competition rules.
ATHLETE PROTECTION & CLEAN SPORT
Policies follow the larger sport framework.
Team Shooting Stars maintains athlete-protection and child-safeguarding practices designed to align with the SafeSport requirements adopted by USA Shooting and the safeguarding framework maintained by ISSF.
Academy coaches complete the background screening and SafeSport training required for their roles within the USA Shooting Certified Training Center environment.
As athletes advance into higher levels of competition, clean-sport responsibilities also become part of competition readiness.
