“Olympic pistol shooting has always struck me as the epitome of focus and concentration, perhaps the most challenging sport. As a member of Team Shooting Stars I have developed an appreciation of discipline, and have begun to see the inner aspect of shooting. The insights I have learned from my coach and fellow Team members have turned out to apply to many aspects of my life: from the mechanics of physical stability to the delighful paradox that the best way to be in control is to not try. The camaraderie and common goodwill, especially focused on young athletes in the Team has been a unique experience for me. Even on my worst days I come out of practice feeling invigorated and full of calm optimism. Coach Brinson’s enthusiasm, dedication and love for the sport are contagious.” — Ricardo Azpiroz, Ph.D.
