Thomas Alm Wins Gold in J3 Class in Air Pistol at NJOSC

The Shooting Stars’ Thomas Alm (Flower Mound, Texas) took home the gold medal in the J3 age group in this years’ 2011 USA Shooting National Junior Olympic Championships (NJOSC).

Thomas started strong, finishing the first day with a score of 504.  He finished day 2 with a score of 493 giving him a total of 997 and the gold medal for his age group.

The J3 silver went Nathan Geer (Florissant, Colo.) with 971 points and the bronze to Andy Choi (Cerritos, Calif.) with 811 points.

The overall match winner was Olympic Training Center Resident Athlete, Will Brown (Twins Falls, Idaho) who shot a score of 1149 in qualification and added 100.4 points in the final for a total of 1249.4 points.  Marshall Matters (Rapid City, S.D.) won the silver medal with 1110 qualification points and 96.4 points in the final to finish with 1206.4 points.   The bronze medalist was Grant Adams of Manhattan, Kan., with an even 1200 total points (1109+91.0).

The Shooting Stars Nathaniel Molder also competed in the Air Pistol event and shot a score of 524 on the first day and 531 on the second day for an overall total of 1055, finishing and 18th in the J1 age group and 29th overall.
