Taylor Gallegos Takes Bronze in Air Pistol at NJOSC
The Shooting Stars’ Taylor Gallegos (Prosper, Texas) took home the bronze medal in this years’ 2011 USA Shooting National Junior Olympic Championships (NJOSC).
Taylor finished strong with a score of 371 and lead the field after the first day of competition. She finished day 2 with a score of 359 giving her a total of 730 and slotting her into 3rd place going into the finals. She shot a 92.5 in finals for a total of 822.5 to retain 3rd place, edging out the next competitor by only 1/10th of a point!
The gold went to Shelby Cammack (Sturgis, S.D.) with an overall score of 827.7 who and the silver to Kylie Gagnon (Bozeman, Mont.), who shot an identical score but shot a lower score in the subsequent shootoff.
As a result of Taylor’s performance, she’s been invited to compete in the 21st Meeting of the Shooting Hopes international competition in Plzeň, Czech Republic in June.
Devin Gallegos also competed in the Air Pistol event at this years NJOSC. She finished 9th in the J1 age group and 24th overall with an total score of 665.
We’re very proud of both shooters performances at this years’ NJOSC and wish Taylor good luck this summer in the Czech Republic.
