Shooting Stars Compete In Southwest Regional
Shooting Stars Kathy Varadi and Matt Cole traveled to Salt Lake City the first weekend of June to compete in the USA Shooting Southwest Regional competition hosted by the Utah Precision Marksmanship Society at the University of Utah.
The UPMS team always puts on a first class match and are always very welcoming hosts.
Kathy took home the Gold in women’s air pistol with a 364. She tied the Silver medalist shooter in both the overall total and last 10 shot series, but her higher 3rd series helped her prevail.
In women’s sport pistol, Kathy won Silver with a 521 (including a very strong 96 on her first precision string), finishing out of 1st by only 5 points.
Matt took home Bronze in men’s air pistol with a 547, missing Silver by only 3 points.
In Free Pistol, Matt also won Bronze with a 496, finishing strong after a slow start on his first two strings.
